Eco-friendly gardeners for novice garden owners

Thursday, January 04 2007 14:37:35 by Editor

Ethical Living An eco-friendly gardening company is hoping to take all of the stress out of the first few months by offering to tidy up budding gardeners' plots and, as an added incentive, they are offering four hours of work for the price of three, reports easier.com.

Many gardening novices will have considered grabbing their lawn mowers, shears and trowels to venture into the great unknown of their back garden this January, but for those unsure of what they are doing, the task can seem a bit daunting.

All Gardening is also offering gift vouchers, an ideal way to hint at a loved one that their flower beds could do with a bit of tender loving care, in the form of "A haircut for your lawn" and "A spring clean for your garden".

With a particular emphasis on city dwellers, the company aims to encourage the public to do themselves some good through their garden and to put something back into the environment.

"Few of us venture out into our gardens just after Christmas, but it's actually the best time to get stuck in," said All Gardening's Phil Argent.

"A little time invested now will make a huge difference come springtime! Many shrubs are best pruned when they're dormant and if you can get your lawns and beds sorted now, you'll avoid damaging shoots and can take advantage of your garden earlier in the season," he added.
