A luxury resort planned for Perthshire in Scotland has sparked concerns over a section of ancient forest.
The Woodland Trust Scotland believes that the development could have an adverse effect on one of the last areas of the Caledonian forest.
More than 400 acres are said to be under threat by the luxury building
Dall Estate is the development in question and a spokesman for the Woodland Trust Andrew Fairbairn spoke about its concerns.
He said: "It is disappointing that, in this day and age, with so much more awareness of the importance of protecting the natural environment that a developer can propose something so damaging and ludicrous that would result in thousands of years of evolution being lost forever.
"Ancient woodland is an irreplaceable habitat."
Objections to the plans can be made to the Perth and Kinross Council website before August 31st.
In April 2009, Woodland Trust Scotland campaigned against the development of a windfarm on Monthreamont Moor, Angus and the plans were subsequently abandoned on the site.
