Teacher takes to Fourth Plinth for Woodland Trust

Thursday, August 27 2009 17:39:18 by Editor

Trees & woodland A school teacher from Chester is taking to the Fourth Plinth today (August 27th) in Trafalgar Square on behalf of the Woodland Trust.

Tamasine Croston will play a version of the game of Play Your Cards Right with large cards to promote the charity and is giving away tree saplings as a prize for winners.

Being a long time supporter of the charity, Ms Croston wanted to go the extra mile when she heard about the Trafalgar Square project.

She said: "I wanted to do it for a charity which I believed in, make people aware of the Woodland Trust and make it fun as well."

Head of woodland creation James Lonsdale for the trust praised her efforts and noted that she was "doing a great job".

"The trust has just held a successful and high profile woodland creation reception at the House of Commons and now the word has spread to Trafalgar Square. It's great," he added.
