Police have been called in to investigate a number of incidents involving show vegetables in Torquay.
Three separate attacks on vegetables have been reported at the same allotment site with the latest being in the days preceding the Torquay Allotments Association's recent show.
The latest victim of the attacks is Tony Mason, whose pumpkins, cabages and carrots still went on to claim prizes at the show despite several of his best vegetables being ruined.
He told the Daily Telegraph: "Someone got all the big carrots, and took all the dahlias, all of which I was going to show.
"They put a big hole in my pumpkin and the cabbages have had a spike or something right through the middle of them. I watered them the day before and checked them over. They were fine then. I don't know what is up with these sick people. I can't believe they would do this to me."
Despite the sabotage Mr Mason still went on to claim first prize with his cabbages and second prize for his carrots as well as other accolades.
