Hollywood actress and singer Bette Midler is set to open a community garden in New York next month.
As founder of the charity New York Restoration Project (NYRP), the star has teamed up with Target and TV host Sean Conway to create green public space in the Bronx district.
The urban garden will serve as a place for New Yorkers to relax outdoors and enjoy the natural beauty of newly-planted shrubs, vegetable gardens, trees and flowers grown and maintained by the not-for-profit team.
"Once again we are thrilled with the work that Target and Sean Conway have done to make this garden a vital part of the neighbourhood," Bette said, according to Look to the Stars.
"We applaud the ongoing commitment that Target has to underserved communities. Like NYRP, they recognise that each time they help create a beautiful oasis in a neighbourhood, they invest in the future of the whole city."
Bette has been in showbiz for more than four decades and still performs regularly in Las Vegas. In March of next year, she is expected to release her 15th studio album.
